Approximately half of our intake arrives in Nursery, Kindergarten and Reception. The vast majority rise through the school to leave at the end of Year 8, aged 13. It may seem a long time, but it passes remarkably quickly!
Within our early years classes, children progress through the 'Foundation Stage' to achieve the Early Learning Goals. Children join the Nursery class from the age of 2 1/2 years or Kindergarten from 3 1/2 years. Children progress to the adjacent Reception classes in the September following their fourth birthday.
Nursery and Kindergarten children experience a wide range of structured, directed and free play activities within a secure, stimulating and happy environment. They have their own playground and access to acres of playing fields, grass and woodland - with their teachers. There is plenty of opportunity to learn and to play - more often than not, to learn through play!
