Prep School

Pupils who have a positive attitude towards their learning will make the best progress and grow to be both successful and well-balanced individuals. At Moor Park we want our pupils to relish challenge, embrace their mistakes as part of the learning process, value the importance of effort, respond carefully to feedback and take inspiration from others. This will help them to achieve, not only with us, but beyond into senior school and adulthood.

The Moor Park Mindsets were developed to promote a healthy approach to learning and are celebrated throughout the school.

Embedding a positive approach to challenges inside and outside of the classroom is a priority of our excellent teaching staff and our programme of enrichment activities and school trips (both residential and day trips) add to the opportunities for personal development and learning.

Year 8 at Moor Park is very special. Pupils are trusted and given responsibility, whether it be Head Girl or Boy, Captain of Cricket, or escorting the Pre-Prep children from the bus to the classroom in the morning. They are expected to take responsibility for their learning and to manage their own time. They flex their adolescent muscles in an environment that supports them through this critical yet challenging period of their lives.

Pupils leave at 13 years old for a wide range of senior schools to suit their characters, future aspirations and family circumstances. Almost without exception, our pupils gain places at their first choice of school, with a good number winning scholarships that reflect individual talents.
