Religion

Moor Park was founded in the Catholic faith, stemming from (and feeding) the great Catholic senior schools in the UK.  When the school began to gather in an increasing number of pupils from other faiths, our Catholicism was regarded by some prospective parents with a certain wariness.  Now the stabiltiy and inspiration of our Christian community are regarded as an added bonus by our non-Catholic parents, who prefer their children to spend their formative years in an overtly Christian school.  Whilst the majority of children at Moor Park are now not Catholic, we believe that our tradition makes the community in a special and central way.

Our parish priest is the school chaplain and this gives us a growing and important relationship with our local parish.  We are proud of our Catholic roots and we see this as the very core of our community.  We also ensure that our children have some exposure to other traditions, an understanding of the wider world and a healthy respect for the beliefs and backgrounds of others.

In any school, the children will achieve their potential only if they are happy.  Christian values are based on the love of God and concern for the individual; pastoral care is thus of paramount importance to us, first and last.
