Tick Tock Philosophy

We aim to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment, catering for all the needs of the children. All children will be treated as individuals with individual needs and will be cared for in conjunction with the wishes of the parents/guardians.

There should be breadth and balance to the experiences for the individual child promoting equal opportunities irrespective of gender, ethnic grouping or socio- economic background in an attempt to provide for the educational needs of each child.
Play that is well planned and pleasurable helps children to think, increase their understanding and to improve their language competence. It allows children to be creative, to explore and to investigate materials, to experiment and test their conclusions. We understand that such experience is important in catching and sustaining children’s interests and motivating their learning as individuals and in co-operation with others.

The level of understanding a child reaches, depends on the variety and quality of direct experiences. We aim to provide this spontaneity and experimentation within their play. We aim to create: -
1.    A partnership with the parents/guardians based on mutual interests of the child’s wellbeing and development.

2.    The sense that the child feels secure, valued and confident and can develop a sense of achievement through play, which is both pleasurable and rewarding.

3.    An environment where children can participate in a wide range of activities, which allows for the development of physical, intellectual, emotional and social abilities.

4.    The opportunity for children to talk and think about their learning and be able to develop self control and independence.

We aim to achieve these experiences through a pleasant physical environment and by the employment of professional, well-trained, motivated and caring staff who have the children’s interests at heart.
