The Tree House - Boarding for Year 3 & Year 4

In the spring of 2010, The Tree House opened to accommodate Year 3 and Year 4 children who wished to have a first taste of boarding in a small, cosy, enviroment.  This house sleeps a maximum of 20 children in two dorms of 10, alongside resident House Parents and a further member of staff.  We offer 'flexi' boarding, with many children requesting further nights after their first experience.

Each evening after prep or activities the children eat supper with the older boarders, attend chapel and then enjoy a range of activities; from table tennis and film nights in the winter to swimming, cricket or bushcraft in the summer months.  After a shower and hot chocolate or milkshake, it's time for a story and bed.  There is little time to miss home and we have found that the children look forward to their next stay with us,  often leaving a favourite soft toy to 'guard their bed'!

Each evening there are at least two members of staff on duty to ensure the children are well cared for, and the senior children often visit to chat to the younger ones and help out.

Environmentally Friendly

Moor Park is also very committed to a sustainability agenda, and The Tree House sits very comfortably within this, as it is an Eco building, built from local, sustainable natural resources. It has attained Category 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, making it one of the first Code 4 houses in Shropshire.  The building is extremely energy efficient, using 75% less energy than the average house, and is 50% more water efficient.   In terms of its carbon footprint, the Tree House absorbed some 16 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the fabric of the building during tree-growth, whereas the average house of its size would create 40 tonnes.

We are very proud of this new house, and do not believe that you will find much better junior accommodation anywhere in the country.
