Sport
Physical activity makes you feel strong, energized, confident and most of all happy. It is a well-known and much proven fact that exercise promotes brain development, improves memory and lengthens attention span.
Physical activity is an integral part of the curriculum at Moor Park. Kindergarten children have planned and sustained time for free-choice active play in their garden and out in the grounds. They have regular PE, Mini-Movers dance classes, Sports Stars sessions and Woodland School, all of which get the children up and moving. These activities continue into Reception, forming part of broad and balanced curriculum.
Our specialist games tuition begins in Year 1 where our senior coaches take the children for team games skills, in preparation for matches in Year 3. Children in Year 1 and 2 also swim in our indoor heated pool. Private tuition is available in tennis and ballet.
The year culminates in our much-anticipated Sports Day, where the children are able to showcase the skills they have picked up throughout the Sports Star sessions in traditional races and events. Competing against peer’s and learning the lessons of winning and losing are vital lessons for life.
