Development & Learning
We fully embrace the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), whilst also enjoying the freedom to implement fresh and creative approaches which are foundations for future learning. Our flexible and innovative approaches to teaching and learning ensure children become confident, rounded individuals who are eager and capable learners that reach their full potential.
There is no doubt that children benefit enormously from shared social experiences, and the progress of each child in this and all other areas is monitored closely. This enables us to keep parents fully informed and to plan carefully for the future. We use Tapestry and hold two parents’ evenings a year to share your child’s learning journey.
Our Early Years curriculum is designed to systematically build on each stage of a child’s development. We know that all areas of learning are important and choose to focus on developing communication, language and vocabulary providing opportunities for meaning full learning to take place.
Experienced Early Years teachers and practitioners work and collaborate across each age range to ensure no opportunities for learning are missed. Smooth transitions between age groups are handled with sensitivity alongside the opportunities in Woodland school, Baby Sensory/Music sessions, and Sport Star sessions, which are led by a qualified instructor, engage children of all ages.
